Tualatin
A splashable fairy at last!!!

General description:
I’m sure you must have all read another review on Tualatin by now, but that’s not really my concern… I’ve decided to continue my reviews of Secret rares, and here comes Tualatin, a level 8 fairy boasting a whooping 2800 Atk and a defence of 2500 to match!!

Uses:
This monster serves more than two purposes!! Tualatin replaces two of your monsters fallen in battle, and can, once summoned onto the field, destroy all monsters of a selected attribute and also prevents them from being normal or special summoned!!

Strategies and game play:
Tualatin’s effect is very precise. It can only be special summoned if and only if you had two or more monsters at the start of your opponent’s battle phase and all of them gets destroyed by battle. But that’s not all, the monsters have to be sent to the graveyard too.
Some more light should be shed on this card however. If you possess two tokens from Fires Of Doomsday, for example, and they get destroyed in battle, you cannot special summon Tualatin, as tokens are not sent to the graveyard, but removed from the field instead, despite being treated as monsters. Tualatin’s last effect that inhibits monster summoning is, just like Jinzo’s effect, a continuous one. So it will no longer work as soon as Tualatin is removed from the field.

Combos with other cards:
Well, here comes the most boring(usually combo is the best) part… Tualatin does not combo with that great amount of cards. It’s a solitary being that needs only 2 monsters. But here are some ideas:
DNA Transplant
This card allows you to change the attribute of all field monsters to a desired one, so Tualatin can then destroy ALL monsters on the field, but you are likely to lose your Tualatin also, so it’s pretty risky…

Patrician Of Darkness
Thos monster has the ability to redirect attacks, so you can prevent your opponent from attacking tokens(if any) or you can make them attack favourable targets like Apprentice magician or Nimble Momonga.

Attribute Decks
Here’s what I’d like to point out. A couple of years ago, people ran Light AND dark decks due to Chaos monsters, but now it’s either all out Dark monsters or light. So much the better for Tualatin. The same goes for zombies and Batterymen. The only deck with a variety of attributes is Six Samurai…

Ways to counteract it:
Firstly, since the summoning conditions of Tualatin require monster destruction, simply use cards like Lightning Vortex to destroy monsters, or simply do not attack.
A good card to counter it is Marco Cosmos, or even Dimensional Fissure, which will prevent monsters from entering the graveyard.
Furthermore, Tualatin has no evasion ability, so all monster removals will work!

Strengths/Pros:
-High attack and defence points.
-The summoning inhibition effect works only for the opponent.

Weaknesses/Cons:
-The monster destruction effect applies to you as well as to your opponent.

Variations:
Up to now, this card is only available in the newly released Light Of Destruction booster pack as a secret rare(that might be the reason why you never saw it before!)

Artwork and aesthetics:
The artwork is a masterpiece in my opinion. Unlike most of the other fairies, it does not possess the girlish look that made us call Guellenduo ‘she’!! Back to the point, the monster depicted clearly looks tough, as well as dignified like fairies should be(he has no legs lol!!). And it’s all glittery too, being a secret rare!!

Overall rating:
Obviously a 9/10. This is a very versatile card that can be splashed in any deck that relies on monsters for winning, and it can also get rid of hordes of monsters and prevent special summons. Isn’t it high time Dimension Fusion comes back so we can use this guy better? Lol!

P.S: I am not a spanish speaker, so comments in english please!!

More of a Side Deck card than anything, but Tualatin is good indeed. At the very least, is Trade-In fooder, so you could side it easily to your Dark Armed Dragon or Destiny Hero build. If you can't use it, just toss it. If you actually get to use it, your opponent will suffer.

As you said, is splashable, but I think isn't for every deck, and it doesn't work against any deck. With Judgment Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon and the "tag-in, tag-out" mechanic of Gladiator Beasts, this card is more of a counter to more "classic" strategies, like the emerging Light Beatdown or even Gadgets that use battle tricks like Shrink or Honest. I don't think Tualatin does much against field-wreckers like Judgment, DAD or Gyzaurus, but themed decks HATE this card so much.

It is a good review though, I like the way you wrote it, keep at it.
